"derelict." Comic book promotional project #3

Technically, WW3 went off without a hitch, and took 26 years to finally burn itself out. 35 years after that, the world is a considerably different place. Religion has become a single, coorperate business venue. Music is illegal, punishable by death. Mass commercialization and consumerism is what holds the world together. Violence is at an all-time low, since the resources to wage war have been spent. Nobody has the energy for it anyway.

A young lady with no name or clear recollection of her past, is on a mission: to find George, the only friend she ever had. The orphanage they grew up together in burned down, only days after “those men” came and took George away 10 years ago. She surrounds herself with “treasures”; antiques and remains from the war. A girl with no future, she can only find herself in the past. The only real connection she has is to her crayon drawing of a heart, addressed to her from George. The problem is, her name is smudged beyond recognition. Now hellbent on re-uniting herself with her childhood companion and finding her real name, a girl simply called Jane [Doe] sets off with no leads and no map, convinced her dreams will ultimately come true.

She has no idea.

(pictured above is Jane and DAN9, the main protagonists of "derelict". These are only two of a multitude of characters within the story. This title is an incredibly personal project of mine, especially since I still haven't figured out what inspired me to create it. It's very literal with its symbolism, and despite the obvious fiction, the story revolves around a central message that relates back to every character. In other words: this is the big'n.)

aw damn...

kinda hard but I think I still hafta go for Letum Ad Vitam.

Still great promo art, though
:iconilljules:
it's all good dude, i appreciate the feedback. :thumbsup: It might not be a bad idea though, since Letum is a lot more developed than derelict is, so... ^^;
:iconremichan:
yay, i'm happy you were able to finish another promo!

i'm loving the texture on this bad boy. all of the texturey bits work together all subtle and good like, not overwhelming like what happens with a lot of work that tries to use texture.

awesome promo piece, i think it looks the most promo-y out of the 3 (i think?) so far. it could be printed on small pieces of shiny stiff paper all bookmark like and handed out at a con or some stuff.

loving the colours too. that bg gradient is tasty and i love how the bright orange of her hair pops out.

ummm....

Such crisp linework and pretty colors...

Graphical quality is always inversely proportional to gameplay quality. The most fun game in the world consists of a single pixel that changes colors. ~Anonymous
